Immigrants study to earn chance to become Americans
Many of them stepped over a wire fence to cross the border from Mexico, gaining legal status through the amnesty program of the 1980s. Now they want to be Americans. On a week that begins with today's national Citizenship Day, 22 of these people will reach their goal.
