Miss California's run is over, finishes in Top 10
The road to the Miss America 2007 crown has ended for Moorpark's Jacquelynne Fontaine, 24, Miss California. She did place among the top 10 semifinalists, but Fontaine was not among the five finalists named during tonight's Miss America 2007 pageant.

Fans root for their own Miss America
Every contestant in tonight's Miss America 2007 pageant is somebody's girl. "Did you see my girl?" and "I saw your girl won last night!" serve as greetings for the thousands of friends, family, friends of family, friends of friends and local pageant officials who traveled to Las Vegas from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands to watch "their girl" compete in tonight's pageant.

The flu was no match for Miss California. The titleholder— Jacquelynne Fontaine of Moorpark — is not only almost completely recovered from a bout with the bug, but on Saturday she won in the talent division during the third and final night of preliminary competition.

Miss America no longer hot topic
At 86, the Miss America pageant is just three years older than former Las Vegas showgirl/dancer Fluff LeCoque. Like the Miss America pageant, LeCoque has seen showgirls audiences slide since the early days. According to Miss America Organization chairman of the board, Sam Haskell, 70 million people tuned in to see Lee Meriwether crowned in 1955. In 2004, the pageant attracted 9.82 million.
